What is Axion Lux?Learn more
The Axion Lux is a miniaturized live-cell analysis platform designed to help researchers monitor cell cultures directly from the incubator using automated brightfield and fluorescence live-cell imaging. Visualize cell morphology and behavior in real-time with an easy-to-use system with fast and reliable data analysis.
>> Track complex biology in brightfield and fluorescence – From label-free to fluorescence-based cell tracking, the Axion Lux can help you to see and learn more.
>> Capture every moment, without crowding your incubator – The Axion Lux operates within an incubator, automatically capturing timelapse images as your cells grow in an optimal environment. The compact device is perfect for labs with limited incubator space.
>> Monitor your cells and analyze remotely – The Axion software allows you to monitor your cells and perform data analysis from your desktop.
>> Get started quickly – A short training will get you up and running with the Axion Lux systems. The devices are easy to install and require no maintenance or calibration.
>> Expand to meet your needs – Link multiple Lux devices together to simultaneously monitor multiple culture vessels.
The Axion Lux allows you to visualize complex cellular biology with ease. Brightfield and fluorescence imaging combined with advanced software tools and intuitive design make the Axion Lux an essential tool for every laboratory. Reveal the detailed kinetics of cell proliferation, cell migration, and morphology, and evaluate cell health for a deeper insight into complex cell behavior.
The Axion Lux platform has 3 available software modules to match your assay needs:
Cell confluence – Available in brightfield or fluorescence. Know exactly when to passage your cells or track cell growth and death in your experiments.
The Axion Lux is a compact digital microscope that utilizes brightfield and fluorescence microscopy to capture automated high-quality images of living cells from inside an incubator. Samples are illuminated using an LED and recorded with a fixed camera positioned below the sample stage. The images are uploaded to the Axion Cloud where they can be analyzed using our image analysis algorithms or 3rd party software.
What type of image analysis modules can I use?Details:
The Axion Lux is compatible with the following modules: brightfield/fluorescence Cell Confluence Analysis Algorithm, Scratch Assay (i.e. collective cell migration) Analysis Algorithm, and Fluorescent Object Count. Users always have the option to download the raw data and perform their own analysis on 3rd party software.
Can the Axion Lux platform be used inside a cell culture incubator?Yes,
Yes, the Axion Lux systems are designed to be used inside a cell culture incubator. The hardware and electronics can operate at 5 – 40°C and between 20 – 95% humidity.
What culture vessels are compatible with the Axion Lux systems?Vessel details
Any transparent culture vessel that is lower than 55 mm (2.2’’) (height of the light arc) can be scanned. Some examples include 6- to 384-well plates, Petri dishes, T25 to T225, microfluidic chips, and Petri dishes.
