Summary:

Maestro MEA data showed that photo-release of dopamine increased cardiomyocyte beat rate.  The synthesis and application of biocompatible BODIPY-based photoprotecting amines are cleavable with red light.  These light sensitive compounds can be used to control the beating frequency of human cardiomyocytes.
