Agenda:
13:45: Reception
14:00: Seminar - Develop the best in vitro disease models with label-free, real-time impedance and imaging technologies for live cell assays
Cell proliferation and cytotoxicity monitoring is of interest for cancer & immune-oncology research, and drug development. Cell viability is commonly measured using cell counting, live/dead cell staining and metabolic activity assays. However, these methods are destructive endpoint measurements and cannot be used long-term. In contrast, proliferation as measured by taking brightfield microscopic images of cultured cells at defined time intervals, confluency can be followed in a label-free manner. Multiple samples can be analyzed with automated, live-cell imaging inside a standard incubator for optimal culture conditions. Imaging is best complemented by orthogonal method such as impedance measurements to monitor cell viability, proliferation, and cytotoxicity. The smart combination of the Omni Live-cell Imager and Maestro Z Impedance instrument can shed light onto the delicacies of cell killing mechanisms of your precious samples.
