Neurotoxicology, 2012

Summary:

Multiwell microelectrode array (MEA) systems were used to evaluate 30 chemicals on the spontaneous activity in networks of cortical neurons.  Recordings in the multi-well MEA plates showed positive mean network spike rate for twenty positive (known evoked activity) drugs highlighting the high sensitivity and specificity of the assay.
