Axion Biosystems' proprietary technology introduces two significant advances to the field of electrophysiology: (1) Novel microfabrication methods have been developed to produce low-cost, disposable multielectrode arrays, and (2) Proprietary integrated circuits (IC) have been developed to eliminate stimulation artifacts, enabling simultaneous stimulation and recording. The combination of these developments has been integrated into an easy-to-use system that allows for high throughput cell-based assays and superior electro-active tissue diagnostics. Axion offers these MEA systems in both single and multiwell formats.



The Muse: Axion’s 64 channel system
The Axion Muse platform introduces fully integrated stimulation and recording to MEA platforms while dramatically reducing the cost and complexity of MEA research. This efficient, flexible, and compact system is well suited for virtually any laboratory environment.

The Maestro: Axion’s 768 channel system (under development )
Axion’s Maestro platform brings MEA technology to the high throughput arena, enabling analysis of neural networks and electroactive tissue at an unprecedented pace and scale. This system is well suited for large-scale cellular analysis in secondary drug screening applications.
