Tom O’Brien, President and Chief Executive Officer   Tom O'Brien was most recently a senior executive at Philips Medical Systems, a division of Royal Philips, after the sale of Intermagnetics General Corporation (NASDAQ: IMGC).  At Intermagnetics he held the role of Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and President, Invivo Medical Devices.  Prior to that, he has had various senior executive positions in both public and private companies, in the US and abroad. Mr. O’Brien holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

James Ross, Ph.D., Chief Technical Officer  Jim Ross was previously a product development engineer for Advanced Micro Devices and the co-founder of Nanogrip Technologies, maker of micro-scale devices used to manipulate MEMs components. He has over 7 years experience in MEMS fabrication, analog circuit design, and neural interfacing technology. During his tenure at the Microelectronics Research Center and the Laboratory for Neuroengineering, he was instrumental in producing over a dozen critically enabling technologies for the manipulation and sensing of neural tissue (many of which are patent pending). Dr. Ross received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University and a Doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech.

Mark G. Allen, PhD, Board Member Mark Allen is currently Senior Vice Provost at Georgia Tech. His main research focus is in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), which uses microfabrication techniques to create mechanical structures in silicon and other materials that can be added to electronic devices.  In addition to his academic work, he has co-founded two successful medical device companies – BioValve and CardioMEMS.  Mark received three bachelor degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983: the B.A. in Chemistry, the B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering, and the B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and his PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Glenn Epstein, Board Member Glenn Epstein was most recently Chairman and CEO of Intermagnetics General Corporation (NASDAQ: IMGC). He began his career as an engineer at General Electric before moving to the U.K. to take on progressive management roles with Oxford Instruments plc. Glenn joined Intermagnetics in 1997 as President and COO, took over as CEO in 1999 and was elected Chairman in 2002. He led the company through multiple years of high growth until negotiating the sale of Intermagnetics to Royal Philips for $1.3 billion. Currently, Glenn serves on the boards of Fuel Cell Energy (NASDAQ:FCEL) and X-Ray Optical Systems.  He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont.
